eLearning can be very effective...if you pay attention! The biggest challenge in eLearning is staying focused on the content while your email, Facebook, chat, and the entire Web is at your fingertips! So, how can you “keep the main thing the main thing” and get the most our of your TimeshareU subscription or course?

1. Get started

TimeshareU is an all-you-can-eat buffet of training materials. So, where do you start? Well, if you're a salesperson, try starting in the Sales Skills category. If you're an OPC or marketer, we have a category for you, too. Are you a manager? Try the Motivation & Self Development category!

It doesn't matter which video, podcast, or blog you choose...just pick one and go!

2. Set goals

Decide what you want to accomplish with your course or your TimeshareU subscription. Write it down on a piece of paper or sticky note and keep it at your computer. Use this goal to motivate yourself and guide your selections on Timeshare U.

3. Set a schedule

Try to set a specific time each week to do your TimeshareU training. Can't pick a time? Then pick a type of free time that might pop up – for example, between sales tours on Thursdays or for 15 minutes in the morning of your days off.

4. Stay focused

Close your email and messaging programs so you don't get interrupted by incoming messages. Now – watch the ENTIRE video or listen to the ENTIRE podcasts. If you're taking acourse, complete one chapter at a time. It's important that you don't get interrupted or interrupt yourself while you're trying to learn!

5. Stay engaged

When watching videos or taking courses, take notes and then set a time later in the week to review them. When taking a course, complete all exercises and follow all instructions you receive. After completing a course, make sure you use your coaching tools regularly. Did you learn something new that you think can help you? Great! Now, use the search box for the library to find videos and podcasts on a similar topic!

6. Keep it going

The best way to maximize your eLearning is to discuss what you’ve learned with your peers or managers. You might find that they have something valuable to add – or that you're able to teach them something new!
